Rita was abandoned inside a large cardboard box in
front of a Petco store - along with five other cats.
All the cats in the box were in good condition and do
not behave like they were neglected.
Rita is young – only about 1 ˝ to 2 years old.
Rita has a deformed front left leg that was likely a
birth defect. Our vet says that she is missing a
bone in her lower leg, and has an extra one up by her
shoulder. Her leg doesn’t cause her any pain –
or slow her down!
Rita is very good with other cats and rabbits and
isn’t afraid of friendly dogs. She is a very
gentle and sweet cat but she does take some time to
adjust to change. She would be best in a home
with another cat or cats that will let her hang out
with them.
Rita is up to date with her rabies and distemper
shots, is spayed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
Dominique is a one very handsome and lucky boy!
Thinking he was feral, Dom was trapped in a 4Paws
volunteer's back yard. Once inside, we realized
that he was not feral at all. The best we can
determine is that Dom started out as a pet and then
ended up outdoors having to take care of himself.
Because Dom had to fend for himself, he can be little
rough around the edges when playing. He is
so happy to get attention that he sometimes gets over
overexcited and roughhouses just like a little boy.
He loves company, running to greet me and rubbing my
ankles when I come into the room. I sit down and
pat my lap and he jumps right up for a long kiss and
cuddle. Dom also loves to be sung to softly,
even by people who cannot carry a tune.
During his travels, Dom learned to be leery of
strangers. Consequently, he will need a little
time to adapt to his new home. Dom LOVES to play
chase with his cat toys. He is a dominate cat,
so any other cat would have to accept his bossy
authority.
Dom has tested negative for FELV/FIV, is neutered, and
is current on his distemper and rabies vaccines. His
age is approximately 4 years old.
